Nationals Review

So...here's the three-fer from my trip to the big, scary City:

August 19, 2005
Washington 0, N.Y. Mets 1 at Shea Stadium

Winning pitcher - Jae Seo (5-1)
Losing pitcher - John Patterson (7-4)
SV - Braden Looper (24)

Washington Record: (64-58)

Another tough one for JP. Perhaps El Hombre would have better luck on the day of the wedding...

Washington 8, N.Y. Mets 9 at Shea Stadium

Winning pitcher - Roberto Hernandez (6-5)
Losing pitcher - Gary Majewski (2-3)

Washington Record: (64-59)

Neat. Livan gives up 8 runs in three innings. How quaint. And even though the boys foght back...they STILL couldn't pull it off and blew it in the tenth.

The Beloved Kim told me, as we witnessed the aftermath of the murder on SportsCenter, that I shouldn't worry about it. "They came back to make sure that it wasn't a blowout. They knew it would be better to lose by one and leave the fans with that little glimmer of hope". Or something to that effect.

And then, while I drove across the state of Michigan on two new tires (long story), Loaiza finally adds to that stubborn 64 Wins tally...

August 21, 2005
Washington 7, N.Y. Mets 4 at Shea Stadium

Winning pitcher - Esteban Loaiza (8-9)
Losing pitcher - Kris Benson (9-5)

Washington6000100007132
N.Y. Mets000030001481

HR: WSH: NYM: M. Jacobs (1)
Washington Record: (65-59)

Finally.

I hope they worked their asses off on this day off.

Next Game: Aug 23, 2005 07:05 PM ET vs. Reds
