HOLY CRAP!

I'd heard of this but had never seen it. Found while looking for Pluto stuff.

Heh. One more.

Survivor: Apartheid

New Season of Survivor to Divide Teams by Race (WaPo)
The hit CBS reality television program will divide its teams or tribes, as they are known on the show along racial lines. For the first half of the series this fall, four teams of five members will be made up of blacks, Asian-Americans, Hispanics and whites.

Pluto Demoted

Astronomers met last week to debate the possible redefining of what constitutes a planet.

Instead of expanding to 12 planets, which was a distinct possibility, they're moving backwards to 8:

New Planets

Astronomers are proposing a galactic shift of our solar system that could raise the number of planets from nine to 12 and open the way to naming dozens more.

Besides reaffirming the solar system status of Pluto, the IAU draft resolution recognizes 2003 UB313, the farthest-known object in the solar system; Pluto's largest moon, Charon; and the asteroid Ceres, which was a planet in the 1800s before it got demoted.

If the resolution is approved, the 12 planets in our solar system listed in order of their proximity to the sun would be Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Ceres, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Charon, and the temporarily named 2003 UB313.

And by the way. It was the god. Not the dog.

He...shall...be...Livaaannnn

My favorite pitcher, who admittedly, has seen much better seasons and is nearing retirement, has been traded away from the Washington Nationals for a couple of young people. Past for future. Smart move. Can't argue it. Just hate to see it.

I hope he can do well in his new uni, and I'll keep an eye out, like I did when he went to San Fran, and then Montreal.

Gracias, El Hombre. Buena suerte...
